Presenter Studio

Here at The Presenter Studio we are industry leaders.  With over 30 years of combined experience in TV we are the only TV Presenter Training Business run by TV Producers of our reputation, experience and reputation.  If you want current, effective industry presenter training then in our opinion there is no where else to go.

With so much bad advice our there we understand that getting your foot on the presenting ladder can often be a very confusing thing.

Whilst we never promise anyone a job what we do promise is the best chance possible of success.  Having worked with presenters from Cat Deeley, Dermot O’Leary, Claudia Winkleman, Graham Norton (the list goes on!) we know what you need to do to succeed and can offer you the secrets of our industry, that quite simply you can’t find anywhere else.

Our presenters have gone on to present for all the major channels, and on our fast track programme the success rate is about 4 out of the 5 presenters going on to get work – simply incredible.

But don’t take our word for it.  See what people have been saying on twitter about us this week:

THE PRESENTER STUDIO – TV PRESENTER SHOWREEL

So what makes a good TV Presenter Showreel?

Well firstly it’s worth knowing they have a bad reputation in our industry.  The majority of showreels we get sent feature people pretending to be a TV Presenter.  They have either gone on a TV Presenter Course that they have found on line, or have filmed them themselves and often tell you nothing about who you are and what makes you different.

You need to think of yourself as a unique brand.  Why would someone buy you and for what TV show? Try to make your reel unique to you – and make sure the links are short and fit the kind of work you want to go for.

It’s a vital thing to get right.

And also we tend to call them Talent Taster Tapes in TV as showreels have such a bad reputation!

Hope this helps.

THE PRESENTER STUDIO REVIEWS

The Presenter Studio is the only TV Presenter Training Business run by Tv Producers of our calibre, experience and expertise.

With so much bad information out there, bad products and bad advise we set up this business over 3 years ago to finally give aspiring presenting talent a place to come and learn.  And it works!

We’ve placed people on jobs on all the major channels – BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and FIVE, in shows from Blue Peter to News.   We’re passionate about what we do and put our heart and souls into giving up our spare time to make a difference.

So we thought you might like to know what people have been saying to us this month:

I had such fun and learnt a lot and I really appreciate what you’ve done for me, Ash Harry.

Thanks so much for last week – I thoroughly enjoyed it and am delighted with the results, Laura Milne.

It really was a privilege to work with you, and to benefit from your excellent advice and encouragement, all done with a professional but light touch!  Kathryn Smart

I absolutely loved the course at the weekend! I’m suffering withdrawl symptoms lol! Natalia Ferrara.

I can’t tell you how impressed I was with The Presenter Studio, and how invaluable the experience was.  Kayleigh O’Connor.

Thanks for the lovliest weekend of my life! I had lots of fun too you made it all that much more special by being there for me and all the team!  Mariam Nazir.

Thank you, had a lot of fun and learnt so much! Shame it had to end and I have now gone into deep depression as I’ve reached my come down :)  Guy Fox.

MEET THE TV PRESENTER AGENT!

We are really excited this week to be hosting a special event for ten lucky Presenter Studio presenters who will be getting prime ‘face-time’ with one of the industries best agents.

We were extremely pleased to have been approached to create this special session based on the continued success and achievements of some of our presenters.

We mentioned Wilfred Frost in our last newsletter – well he’s bagged another interview for ITV, this time with Greg Dyke at Wembley! – which, you can see here:

http://www.itv.com/news/meridian/story/2014-06-12/fa-chairman-on-englands-chances-in-the-world-cup/

We have also had presenters screen testing for MUTV and appearing on the Food Network in the last couple of weeks too.

When you work with us we are so happy to continue to give people free career advice and support to help with preparation and big decisions.

Last week we met some amazing people all just starting out in this industry we call showbusiness, at the Want To Work in Television event in London. It’s encouraging to see people working hard to network and make opportunities in the world of presenting.

As we always say, working in television is exciting and rewarding, but it also takes a lot of determination and hard work. TV Presenting is a creative and exciting job to want to do and we love being part of helping you all achieve your own dreams.

So – keep working hard and let us know what you’re up to!

TV PRESENTER JOBS AND TV PRESENTER ADVICE

Here at The Presenter Studio by day we make some of the biggest shows on TV – from Strictly Come Dancing, to Big Brother, to I’m A Celebrity.  We have worked in all the TV genres from BBC News to Channel 4 docs to CBBC.

Our reputation in the industry is unparalleled.  After a combine over 30 years making shows for the BBC; ITV; Channel 4; SKY and FIVE we are well known and respected in the TV World.

It is this expertise and reputation we offer to all our clients.  We are proud to be the only TV Industry Professionals with our level/range of experience and expertise to offer training and advice to presenters.  Every genre in TV works very differently so we can really help market you for the type of work you want to go for.  Advice comes in all shapes and sizes but make sure you get the advice that is relevant to you.

Yesterday one of the biggest TV Prod Co’s in the UK Maverick contacted many of the female presenters on our site for a new presenting job.  We know Maverick well and it’s our training and taster tapes that they buy into.  They know our presenters, even with no experience are ready for big presenting jobs and they have a tape that they can take straight to the commissioner at the channel, without doing any work themselves.  We are a quick and easy fix for major production companies – a one stop shop for talent if you like.  Visit our youtube channel and see what all the fuss is about – www.youtube.com/presenterstudio

So when you are getting presenter advice from people ask what shows have they Produced.  What talent have they discovered?  What genre was it for?  And what channel?  Have they just worked in one genre?  And if so do you want to work in that genre?  If not the advice they give you might not be right for you.

We’d never knock anyone here – it’s not what we are about.  But be careful!  Our industry desperately needs new talent and it thrives on it.  We ourselves as producers have had shows commissioned with lots of new talent attached – and many of our colleagues are all crying out for new talent.

We’re proud to be different here.  And so should you!  We are all about honest, impartial, friendly but above all expert advice – from people who’s reputation speaks for itself.  And with around 80% of our presenters going to get work our success rate perhaps speaks for itself too!

Presenter Job

Everyone who comes on our fast track presenter training programme or the private 1 to 1 training programme gets put up for work.  This is a free service we provide as part of our support and passion for our clients.

People have got all sorts of jobs from TV Commercials, to TV shows and it’s all down to the expert training and products they receive.

Maverick Productions, Endemol, BBC NEWS, CBBC, Love Productions have all asked for us to recommend presenters for jobs in the last 2 weeks.  Also we have top presenter agents who want us to pass on clients that ‘stand out’ to them direct.

We’re proud of all the hard work we put in to open up our presenters to incredible jobs that are very rarely advertised.

As working TV Producers we are well known in the industry and it’s our contacts and industry knowledge that offers priceless opportunities to people who come and work with us.

We never promise anyone a job as the presenting world doesn’t work like that.  But what we do promise is a unique service that does all it can to get you where you want to be.

This week we are casting for a new channel 4 series and we need a presenter that is passionate about cars.  So if you are on our database and fit the bill drop us an email asap!

The Presenter Studio Review – 5 Stars!

So it’s bright and early on a Monday morning and we are all of to do our day jobs as TV Producers.  Gareth is currently the Series Producer on a new music show working for Jamie Oliver’s Production Co Fresh One and Leon is the Senior Producer on the new series of Big Brother.

This weekend we had another one of our amazing TV Presenter Fast Track Training Programmes – voted the UK’s best TV Presenter Training Course.

We receive so many incredible comments and words of thanks here, so we thought we’d share with you what ALL the presenters had to say about us this weekend.  We also asked them to give us a star rating out of 5 – and our average was, yes you guessed it 5!!!

OLIVIA:  Absolutely loved it!  Perfect!  The feedback from the Producers was so useful.  Loved how they worked so closely with each student and it really made you get the most out of the weekend.  I’d definitely recommend you!  Such a fabulous weekend.  Beat all my expectations.  5 STARS!

FARI:  Loved it and would recommend it to anyone wanting to do a TV Presenting Course.  5 STARS

JANA:  Loved it!  Really friendly fun atmosphere.  The fact that it is all about being yourself and not a TV Presenter was so useful.  I have no idea how you could make this experience any better! xxx 5 STARS.

ENGIE:  Really great to work with.  Would definitely recommend you.  Amazing.  4.5 STARS.

So if you want to be a TV Presenter and get the experience of senior producers who been in the business for over 17 years each.  What are you waiting for!?

The Presenter Studio

Voted the UK’s No 1 TV Presenter Training Course.

Getting work as a TV Presenter is a mind-field.  There is so much conflicting information out there, and we know it can be really confusing!

Three years ago we came up with the idea of The Presenter Studio.  As working TV Producers we wanted to give people the inside track into our business.  We make shows for all the major channels and have broken new talent on countless shows from Strictly Come Dancing to Channel 4 documentaries.  Our experience is vast.  And our reputation in the industry speaks for itself.

So if you want to be seen, work with and find out what is REALLY takes to get into TV Presenting, regardless of your experience then come along to our session called How To Make it as a TV Presenter on Sat 22nd June.  It’s priceless TV Presenter Training from TV Producers.  Presenter Training, exposure and Presenter Advice you won’t find anywhere else.

It’s packed full of practical work and invaluable career advice.  Our last session was met with rave reviews, with everyone giving us a 5 STAR RATING.

Past presenters have gone on to get amazing work – so if you want the best start possible to your presenting career.  This is the session for you.

There is limited space so we have to operate on a first come first served basis. So please if you want to come try to book ASAP!

The Presenter Studio – Proud to be as Different as You Are.

There are so many mixed messages out there when it comes to getting yourself on tape in what most aspiring presenters refer to as a TV Presenter Showreel.

We get sent showreels all the time from presenters who want our advise and sometimes, like many producers it’s really hard to know where to start.

What 99% people do is that they put together a tape of them pretending to be a TV Presenter.  They try to keep their options as broad as possible – presenting everything from news to comedy to children’s shows.  They often remind us of when people were kids and you said to each other ‘lets pretend to be TV Presenters’.   It’s a real problem and it’s a real shame to see so many potentially talented people all making the same mistake.

As TV Producers it’s our job to put together the whole team, and then hire the presenter. Once we have found who we like the commissioner at the channel will ask us to put something down on tape.  This is what you usually refer to as a Talent Taster Tape.  It’s a taste of who you are, what makes you different and why you are right for the job.  It’s all about your personality – how you are going to help bring a programme to life, what audience are you going to attract – it very rarely (unless you are going for news) has anything to do with your technical ability to be a TV Presenter.

So if you learn one thing from this post – it’s to think about yourself as a unique personality NOT as a TV Presenter.

So here are our top do’s and don’ts!

1.  DON’T ACT THE ROLE OF A TV PRESENTER.

2.  PUT TOGETHER SOMETHING THAT REFLECTS THE TYPE OF WORK YOU WANT TO GO FOR/OR ARE SUITED TO.

3.  WORK WITH A PRODUCER WHO WORKS IN THE INDUSTRY.  PRESENTERS ARE NEVER ON THEIR OWN – SO SEE IF YOU CAN BE PRODUCED TO BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE.

4.  MAKE IT SHORT – NO MORE THAN 3 MINS 30 SECONDS.

5.  AND THE FIRST 10 SECONDS ARE KEY SO GET THEM RIGHT – IF PRODUCERS DON’T KNOW WHO YOU ARE BY THEN YOU WILL SIMPLY GO IN THE NO PILE!

We hope this has helped you.  Good luck!  Our industry is built on new presenting talent so if you are looking for a presenter course or a TV Presenter Training Programme make sure you go on the right one!

Best wishes as always.
