Fabulous three day Presentation Skills coaching with the team at Fenty beauty, Fenty Hair, Fenty Skin, and KVD and Ole Henriksen - all under the umbrella of KENDO. This was our third session for the teams there and we had an absolute blast.
Six clients branded for success across different forms of presentations - at events, online, at work, on video, on social media.
The team threw themselves into the sessions with great energy, open minds, and the desire to improve their skills We were blown away with what they achieved - building to a final presentation at the end of Day Three which was nothing short of incredible.
Nerves can get the better of all of us. We have been working in the media for nearly 30 years and have worked with a long list of presenters and business people.
If you suffer from nerves here are 5 quick and easy tips:
Visualisation: Visualise the end of your presentation and it's a big success. This really helps to flip the brain into a positive state.
Think of your presentation as a present for your audience - soemthing that they will love to receive.
Chat to your friend - have that one person in mind that you feel comfortable with.
Get to the venue early and rehearse your walk on and your opener.
And finally try the power pose - a physical pose that brings out your superpower.
Give them a go and let us know how you get on!

When it comes to interviews lots of presenters struggle.
So here are some quick but really effective tips:
1 - Think of it as a chat or conversation.
2 - Make it your own. Find your own style.
3 - Choose short questions.
4 - Bring in your audience - body language and eye contact are important so they feel included.
5 - Remember the audience are more often there to see and listen to your guest, so make sure you get the balance right and don't make it too much about 'you' as the host.
Good luck!

The importance of finding your own voice.
We've just completed a one day storytelling workshop for KENDO and their brands Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, Fenty Hair, KVD Beauty and Ole Henriksen.
Connecting with your audience with storytelling can be a great way to bring some connection to the brand.
Stories can bring brands to life. They add a personal element. And can help you stand out from the crowd and build a community.
We loved running this session with KENDO. It was totally bespoke to their needs. And the feedback we had was just amazing. So much so that they have booked two more sessions for us to do - presentation skills and also content creation for their influencers.

Over the last couple of years we have done a lot of coaching for clients on how to present online, for zoom presentations, online events, hybrid events or simply work meetings and catch ups.
So here are 5 top tips and tricks on how to come across more confident and professional when presenting online.
1 Eyeline is hugely important. Make sure you look down the lens and not at the other people on the screen. If you look down the lens it will make your audience think you are looking at them. If you look at the other people on the screen your eyeline will be off, and so if can come across cold and disengaged – often without you even realising it. And think of the camera as a friend – not the camera – it will help with your pacing, choice of language, tone, script…
2 Make sure your camera is at a height where you are looking straight forwards. You don’t want to look down at your audience which makes you come across as self important, and you don’t want to look up at your audience as this gives them the power. You want to look straight ahead. So get some books. Or a stand and elevate your laptop so you can look directly at your audience.
3 Look at your background – plain works best as you don’t want something that will detract from you – and wear an outfit that contrasts the background, so you pop on screen.
4 Energy – the camera always dilutes what you do – so connect with your presentation, bring your words to life, and smile – if you want to be engaging you need to be engaged with what it is you are saying. So watch your energy. Be you on a good day.
5 And finally once you go live remember you are indeed live. So have a script and a plan for that. If you need to let people know you are waiting for everyone to log on etc be clear with your language. Once you are in vision your presentation has started! Too many people fumble around at the top – can you see me, can you hear me, checking their camera height etc…this can create a really amateur impression, and first impressions are so important.
