We've just Produced a new gameshow pilot for one of the major channels here in the UK. The presenter's role in a TV pilot is crucial to the success of the idea. You need to bring the show to life, nail the tone of the programme and in this case make sure that the rules, format and gameplay of the idea come to life. It's no easy job. You'd usually, as in this case get a script read-through and then before you know it you are thrust into a studio, with all the cameras, contestants and a crew who are on a tight timescale and have to hit the ground running. Presenting in this kind of set up isn't easy and everyone's eyes are on you - hoping that you'd add that little extra to the idea. So if you get a call to present a TV pilot make sure you read and learn your script as much as possible. You don't have time on the day to be working it all out. Also have a good attitude, you are the final piece in the puzzle and good team work is important for the success of any show!
