Many of our clients have to speak at conferences.  Stepping away from your desk, and delivering an effective presentation can be a difficult thing to do.  And for most of our clients they fall into the trap of writing a speech that is void of their own personality, that has too much corporate jargon and won't create the desired impact.

So when you are presenting at a conference think of these following steps:  

WRITE A SCRIPT:  Write your script as you would speak to a friend - make it conversational and personal to you.  

EMBRACE STRUCTURE:  When you are writing your script make sure you embrace structure - make sure you write a really strong intro.  You want to capture your audience from the off - so how you start, and how you set up your speech can be really important. 

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT:  Practice your script out aloud as much as you can.  You want to know that script as best you can, so on the day you feel comfortable and can concentrate on enjoying the opportunity to speak to people, rather than just getting through it.  

KNOW YOUR ENVIRONMENT:  Make sure you know the space you are going to present in - if you there is a lecturn, what sort of mic is it etc.  

NERVES:  We all get nervous.  And being honest about how you are feeling can make you more personable and relatable, so don't be afraid to share how you are feeling.  But a good trick just before you go on is to take just one deep breath in and out, and make sure it goes fully out.  That final breath will make you match ready!  

ENJOY IT:  And enjoy it.  Think of this as an amazing opportunity to share your message with others.  Be passionate.  Smile.  And connect with what you are saying!  

Being an influencer for many people is now a career choice, but having thousands of followers doesn’t always translate into it being lucrative.   Brands look to influencers to advertise their products, but they will need you to be able to get their information across but in your style and the most effective way of them doing this is video content.   So you’ll need to be able to deal with scripts, information but keep it all as natural as possible.  

Here’s our top 5 tips to how to be a good influencer, so you can attract the top brands, and secure the biggest fees. 

Find your unique voice.  This is hugely important.  There are so many influencers out there, but what makes you different or unique?  You need to find your own voice and your own style – it’s what we call being a ‘produced version of you’. 

Be Authentic.  You need to make sure your content is honest, real and true to who you are.  

Know your Audience.  Who do you want to appeal to, and what kind of content do they wnt to see?  

Master IGTV - Instagram TV is the future! And taking videos of yourself is harder than just a photo.  Go for a mixture of durations and also try giving out some actual content – its good practice for when a brand asks you to collaborate with them!  

Know your Personal Brand.  This is what we are experts in.  You need to think of yourself as a brand, and make sure that everything relates back to this.  Brands are often boiled down to 3 key things – so write down your 3 key traits.

We've loved reading our 5 star reviews from this weekend's fast track presenter training course.  We only allow 4 people to come and work with us so we ensure that eveyone gets expert tailor-made presenter training.  What's so good about that too is you get to see how we work with each person differently depending on their personal brand and also the market they want to work in.

We have a whole range of clients come and work with us.  All with very different ambitions and goals.  A few years ago Malaysian chef Norman Musa came and trained with us.  He came on the award-winning Fast Track TV Presenter Training Course. and then we also went to Manchester where we filmed with him in our 1 to 1 advanced presenter training programme.  Norman very quicky found success and went on to present for the BBC and Channel 4 on different food programmes.  He very kindly dropped us a quick update email today to say that he is now into his 5th series of his own cooking series back in Malaysia too.  We are so proud of all the success he has had.   This is what he said about working with us too:
