The Producers who train the talent here at The Presenter Studio have worked in TV for over 20 years, Producing some of TV’s biggest names from Dermot O’Leary to Claudia Winkleman to Raymond Blanc…the list is pretty long!
The art of being a good presenter is being able to be ‘produced’ that means being able to take direction, notes, and giving the producer what they need for the show. So basic things like learning scripts, understanding the tone of your piece, bringing your personality into what it is you are saying and doing, and bringing the show to life.
Your Producer is in essence your right-hand-man. We write scripts for you, give you all the research notes you need, and then are there the whole time, by your side or down your ear, to make sure you are the best you can possibly be.
So, it’s essential that a presenter works as part of the production team. Every presenter is, in our opinion replaceable as there is always someone else around the corner wanting to fill your place. So, a good attitude goes a long way! We all have an off-day now and again – stress and pressure can often bring out the worst in people. But when your attitude gets in the way of what you do, it’s time in our opinion for you to move on. After all – why would we want to work with you if you’re difficult?
So remember – be nice! Listen to your producer as they are there to help. And above all, have fun – TV is meant to be enjoyed and is a great industry to work in!
